Most of the fights I got into in High School and Middle School were because I was taking up for her. Children can be so cruel. Not only was my sister having to deal with the reality of her own mortality WAY before any kid should, but then she had to deal with the abuse at school. Not all kids were mean, there were helpful and giving souls a long the way that made Brandie feel at least sometimes like she was a normal kid.

She lost her smile at 2. My Mom knew something was wrong but the Doctors couldn't pin point what it was that she was suffering from. One doctor even made the crazy assumption that she was doing it for attention.

She played t-ball, but the disease caught up with her and it took away her ability to run. It eventually took away her legs all together and so she was confined to a wheel chair. That still couldn't take away her spunk and zeal for life. She would play cards with us grown ups, and had her first drink with her Brother and Dad on her 21st birthday. (Even though she hated drinking.) She was in a bowling league, graduated High School, and went on to help kids that had her same disease at camp. I never heard her complain.

She tried to live a normal life, she was on Myspace and in chat rooms and every once and a while my parents had to run some over zealous pervert off of our property for trying to meet the girl he met in the chat room. She wanted to be a Mom, she wanted to live a normnal life, and you know what? She did. She went with me to see Tommy Lee play live in Little Rock, we had VIP seats thanks to the folks at the Rumba Room. She went with us on vacation to Disney World and rode all the rides they would let her on and some they wouldn't. She was my sister, and I miss her every day.

Brandie passed away Feb. 28th 2008. Her heart had finally given out. The disease that tried to hold her back her whole life finally caught up with her. The Doctor's told us she wouldn't live to see her graduation. Boy, were they wrong. Whenever I start to feel sorry for myself in my life all I have to do is think of Brandie and then I understand that whatever it is that is bothering me is just not that bad.

Brandie had a spirit that never gave up. Her one real joy in life was attending summer camp that MDA provided. It costs 800 bucks to send one kid to camp for the summer. It really does make their year... she would ALWAYS go on and on about what happened at camp. Cheap price to pay for putting a smile on a kids face that can only smile on the inside.

Paint-huffing husband hauled to jail

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - A Fort Wayne man was charged with inhaling toxic vapors for the 48th time after his wife called police and told them he was huffing paint in their apartment last Thursday.

According to a Fort Wayne Police Department report, when an officer arrived at the 517 Lawton Place apartment, Elizabeth Gibson said she and her husband Kelly had been in an argument and he had gone upstairs to huff paint.

The report said since she was afraid to go inside, she handed the officer her keys and followed him up.

When the officer opened the door, the entire apartment smelled of paint fumes and Kelly was found sitting on the couch with his shirt off, and his hands, mouth, nose and chin covered in silver paint.

Police said Kelly had a can of silver spray paint in his right hand and a paint-covered plastic bag in his left.

The officer said Kelly had a dazed, glassy-eyed look about him and was unsteady on his feet.

Kelly was taken to the Allen County Jail and charged with inhaling toxic vapors.

This incident was the 48th time Kelly was charged with inhaling since 1992.

DROWNING POOL SPOOFED ON STAGE BY NONPOINT

This is great video of Drowning Pool getting spoofed by Nonpoint June of last year. This was the last show of the tour for these guys and they have gotten really close touring with each other over the years. 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto marked the 17th anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death on Tuesday by posting a video of himself doing an eerie impression of Cobain doing "Penny Royal Tea" from MTV Unplugged. (See the video below.) Leto writes on his blog, "This [anniversary] made me recall a short piece of film I shot when I heard they were making a film celebrating his life. I made it to explore the character and explore creative possibilities. I never sent it to the studio or to anyone but thought I'd share it now."

Tomorrow is the anniversary of when Cobain's body was found at his Seattle home.

The Crock Pot: Man's best friend?

You bet your sweet ass it is!

The great thing about crock pot cooking is it takes 15 minutes to cut the crap up but after that.. you are pretty much done. And your old lady will think you are a good guy because you spent all day cooking. (The stuff cooks itself this is were the genius comes into play!)

Last night I made my Chicken Corn Chowder..

What you will need:
Crock Pot
2 cans Campbells Potato Soup
2 cans Campbells Chicken Soup
6 chicken breasts cut up into pieces
a bag of baby carrots
2 cans of corn
4 potatoes cut into 6-8 pieces... doenst matter how really.
one can of chicken broth
a crap load of cheyenne pepper (not too much if you dont like it hot, I like it burning my nostril hairs)
a crap load of black pepper...
hell at this point just open up the spice cabinet and throw stuff in there.

This is for a big ass crock pot if you have a smaller one do smaller portions fill that baby up and go!

Let cook on low 10 hours.

Come home feed to wife and put hands on top of head for soon to be sexual favor coming your way.

There are a set of unwritten rules that will get you out of that speeding ticket.

1. Pull the car over and put your hazards on.
2. Put your dome light on so the officer can see in the car.
3. Remove your keys from the ignition and place them on the top of your car.
4. Hands at 10 and 2.
5. Be respectful. Always answers with a yes sir, and no sir.

I was rolling 50 in a 35. (because I was looking at my GPS and was not sure where I was going.) The FWPD officer let
me go with a warning because I had a clean driving record and good etiquette. Let it be known, those guys are doing their
job and the less it looks like you will kill them or try to run the better they respond to you in turn. Or at least in my experience.

So yesterday I got a call from a guy that told me he lost his Mom, Wife, and Son in a car accident last week. His only request is that I help him find a car to get to and from the Hospital in Fort Wayne where his only surviving Son of the wreck was being held. I put his story on the air and you guys responded in a manner I had never witnessed before. Within one hour we had a truck for Gabe Spradlin. I want to thank EVERYONE involved yesterday. The outpouring of support for Gabe and his family was TREMENDOUS!

First off, thanks to Matt Wand for donating his 1990 Chevy Silverado. Without knowing this stranger he gladly donated his truck, I would also like to thank ALL of the other calls that came in afterwards from dealerships and listeners alike who wanted to help out. Big thanks to Taylor over at Advance Auto Parts for providing all of the parts needed to get the truck in proper working order, Mike and Andrew over at Smith and Sons Automotive for providing the service of putting ALL the new parts on the truck and lastly Eric over at TireVille for donating the tires.
