I really, really hate when things don't work the way they're supposed to.  My example today is my computer that I'm on at the station.  Now obviously if I'm typing this blog on this computer that would lead you to believe it's working.  However, when I try to log into my Bear e-mail account, it won't let me.  Why??  Nobody knows!! This thing as a freakin' mind of it's own and trust me, it's in full PMS mode today!  And now it's new thing is to not let me minimize the screen I'm on to get back to my desktop...lovely.  Meaning I'm going to have to close everything out and start over...for the 3rd time in the past hour!!!  Seriously, if this wasn't a computer that everyone worked on I would totally chuck this thing out the damn window!!!!!!!!!

Ok, now that I got that out of my system, let's move on to what went down this past week.  For me personally it was busy, 4 Mad Ants games to announce for put somewhat of a strain on the ole vocal chords but I was able to make it through it ok.  And the Mad Ants actually played pretty good 3 of the 4 games.  Saturday night was most impressive by beating L.A. with only 7 guys able to play!  And they won convincingly by 20 points!  Sean Sonderleiter has been on fire the past few games and Friday night was no different, 25 points to go along with 20 boards.  He's a guy that works his ass off and I'm glad it's finally paying off for him here.  And let's not forget that he's got the best hair in the NBA D-League! LOL

In other sports news, congrats to the 3 girls high school basketball teams (Canterbury, Bishop Luers, & Concordia) for making it to the State Finals this past weekend!! And uber congrats to Canterbury & Concordia for bringing home championships in class 1A and 3A.  Luers gave a good fight but fell by 5.  Just an awesome showing by our local schools in this year's state tournament and great job by the Coliseum in hosting the Finals.

NFL free agency started this week and the Chicago Bears sent a clear message to their fans that they want to win...NOW!!  They signed DE Julius Peppers, RB Chester Taylor, and TE Brandon Manu...something or other to deals.  To me though, the most important thing the Bears have done this offseason was add offensive coordinator Mike Martz to their staff.  His offensive schemes have always seemed to work and he's got some good tools to work with there in Chicago.  They still need a solid #1 WR but I don't think they're done signing and dealing.

I watched my first pre-season baseball games this week and wow...it felt good to be watching them!  It just means that spring, baseball, and summer and just around the corner...thank God!  Not sure how my Cubs will do this year but they should be competitive for the 4th straight year which has NEVER happened in my 31 years of life, lol.

Let's talk music.  I went to the 216 show this past Friday night at 4D's.  It was my first time there and I loved the layout of the bar, very good place to see a show.  I missed the opener Koheleth which bummed me out because I really wanted to see them.  I loved the old band, Shunned, that the majority of the guys were in so I'm looking forward to seeing them when I get the chance.  I did get to see Sirface again but this time they had a different drummer, their regular drummer apparently had the plague but the drummer for Koheleth stepped in and did an amazing job!! They apparently played once together 6 months ago and somehow they pulled it off again with virtually no practice time.  It was an awesome display of the talent of Sirface and the talent of local musicians in general here in our Bear listening area.  Kriadiaz was up next and they killed it as did 216.  It was a great night!

This Monday night on Local Licks we have 3 bands of course, Thatchet kicks the show off.  They're a band out of Kendallville and they're making their debut on Local Licks.  They play Traxside this Friday night and from what I've heard on their Myspace page, they won't disappoint at all!  Kan-tis is on the show, they're playing Rick O'Shays Friday night along with Exterminate All Rational Thought and Jinx & The Back Alley Cats.  Cover is only $5 and it's penny draft night!!  I've been a big fan of Kan-tis the past couple years and everytime I've seen them they just get better.  Finally I put Day of Fire in the headline spot, yes I know they're not local but they sent me their stuff a long time ago and I told them if they ever played in the Bear listening area I'd show them some love.  Well, they're opening up for Cold & Nonpoint this Wednesday night at Piere's so I'm keeping my end of the bargain and putting them on the show.  I think you'll like the song "Lately" that I'm playing and I'm really looking forward to seeing them this Wednesday at Piere's.  Tickets are only $9.89/$13 day of the show...Cold, Nonpoint, and Day of Fire...that show is going to absolutely kick ass!!!

I think that's all for today, hopefully you'll actually get to read this.  I just hope the computer here lets you...it's kind of a bitch, lol.  Take care everybody!!
